Temperature Variations
The warmest month in Puerto Rico is July, with an average maximum temperature of 30°C. The coldest month is February, with an average maximum daytime temperature of 27°C.
Rainfall and Wet Season
The wet season takes place from May to October, with August being the wettest month. The northern coast receives the most rainfall on the island, with over 1550 mm per year, while the southern coast has an annual average rainfall of 910 mm. The mountainous regions receive significantly more rainfall, ranging between 3000 mm and 4000 mm annually.
Hurricane Season and Best Travel Time
Hurricanes can affect the island between August and November. The best time to visit Puerto Rico is during the relatively dry season, which lasts from November to May.
