Mongolia, a land of boundless, unspoiled steppes, involves traversing rough, unpaved roads for hours. Here, sleeping in tents and engaging with nomadic families who preserve their ancient customs and traditions is part of the adventure. Staying in a yurt or ger, traditional Mongolian tents, is undoubtedly the most authentic way to immerse oneself in Mongolia's incredible landscapes.
Mongolia is a special country, it has a particularly rich flora and fauna. A visit to Mongolia's warmest and driest area, the Gobi Desert, comes highly recommended. Go on a boat journey across Khövsgöl Lake, Mongolia's largest and most profound freshwater body. Or trek through its rugged mountains and extensive grasslands, where horses, yaks, and goats roam freely. At the end of your day's exploration, unwind in a Mongolian Ger under the country's spectacularly starlit sky. Yes, exploring Mongolia is like an exploration into the unknown.
Gers are often nestled in picturesque locations, such as at the base of rocky hills amidst the vast steppe. During your travels, you typically stay with a local family, surrounded by several gers spread out in the open. Nearby, about 50 meters (164 ft) away, stands a solitary wooden structure - the traditional squat toilet. It's simply a hole in the ground encased in wood. Despite the initial adjustment, this toilet arguably offers one of the most impressive views worldwide.

The camp is really comfortable, large and clean showers, and the yurt was traditionally decorated and equipped. There is a restaurant serving delicious traditional dishes. On booking.com they get an average rating of 9.3.
Best time to visit Mongolia
Mongolia's lengthy subarctic winter can be quite challenging for travelers. With the arrival of summer, the snow in the Gobi Desert gives way to sandstorms. However, the rainy season, from July to September, is in the end the ideal time to visit. For more detailed climate information in Mongolia, click here.
