Climate and Average Weather in Papua New Guinea

Papua New Guinea has a climate characterized by high temperatures and humidity throughout the year. The North West Monsoon season is from December to March while the South West Monsoon season is from May to October. Rainfall is at its heaviest in the highlands with average annual precipitation varying between 2,000 and 5,000 mm (79 to 197 inches).

Average monthly temperature ranges in for example Port Moresby from 26 degrees Celsius (79 degrees Fahrenheit) to 28 degrees Celsius (82 degrees Fahrenheit) throughout the year.
