Although you can visit Kathmandu year round the best time to visit would be from October till Mai. The months October and November are high season. Most of the big monsoon rains have disappeared, the sky is clear and the view of the Himalaya's is amazing.

Also the months December and January are great months to visit. The sky is still clear, but it will be pretty cold at night. Spring (March and April) would be the most ideal time to visit. June till September are the months with most rain (rainy season). These months are best to be avoided.
