Climate and Weather of Philippines

Most of the Philippines experience a typical tropical marine climate, characterized by hot and humid weather throughout most of the year. From June to September the nation undergoes its rainy (monsoon) season. During this time typhoons are not uncommon. From October to February, the northeastern monsoon brings in cold winds from the north. This results in cool and dry weather conditions. From March to May the Philippines endures intensely hot summers.

The country's average temperature typically hovers between 25°C and 34°C. However, it's worth noting that highland areas are significantly cooler, with nighttime temperatures often dropping to around 20°C.

In general the best time to visit the Philippines is from December to March. The weather is warm and mostly dry throughout the country in these months. April can also be a great time to travel if you can tolerate the heat. It is the sunniest month of the year.

Given the diverse archipelagic nature of the Philippines, it's wise to research specific regional climates before you go on your journey. The weather can vary considerably from one island or region to another. While one area might be enjoying clear blue skies, the other could be experiencing heavy rainfall in the same time. This is mainly because of the country's complex topography and oceanic influences.
