Valencia Weather and Climate: A Comprehensive Guide
Valencia is located on the Mediterranean sea and experiences a Mediterranean climate.This climate is known for warm summers and mild winters. During summer the pleasant sea wind causes cooling. During winter time it is often cooler, however as soon as the sun starts to shine it warms up. Like the rest of the world, you'll also see big differences in the climate in Valencia. Sometimes summer can start earlier and winter later. This can result in temperatures in December still touching 25°C.
The sun shines on average 7 hours a day and the humidity is generally high. From December to April we do not recommend swimming in the ocean. The water temperature will be between 13°C and 15°C. Starting May, the ocean will begin to warm up, averaging around 17°C. In the summer months the water will be between 23°C and 25°C.
