Sleeping in a glass iglo in Finland

Sleeping in a glass igloo with the Northern Lights shining above you. This is now possible in various places in Finnish Lapland. The most famous one is in the Iglo village in Kakslattaunen. The idea is amazing and definitely something to add to your bucket list.

The popular huts are built with special thermos glass, so that the igloo easily maintains a normal room temperature. While it can be minus 20 degrees Celsius (-4 degrees Fahrenheit) outside. It is also remarkable that the thermo glass cannot freeze. Which guarantees the view. 

At Kakslauttanen Arctic Resort - Igloos and Chalets you are surrounded by nature. This unique accommodation is located in the Saariselkä Fell region of Finnish Lapland.The rooms are not extremely large and is mainly built around a double bed. You have your own shower and toilet. Most even have a sauna, or one close by. There is also a restaurant where you can have dinner, as well as breakfast. It is perfect that you are warned as a guest when the Northern Light appears. Be aware, this is not a cheap night but it's worth it. 

Best time to visit

The best months to see the Northern Lights is the period from September to March. Most northern light trips are organized between October and February.
