Maybe it is our favorite little town in India to go to when summer is in full swing. A high mountain town called Kasar Devi. High in the mountains close to Almora this destination does not attract many tourists yet. Which is nice and hopefully this will stay like this and it won’t become a major tourist destination after this post.

Kasar Devi, however, has been discovered by many adventurous Israeli travelers. If you don't mind the lively Israeli presence and are captivated by spectacular views with limited distractions, then Kasar Devi is the perfect destination for you. It's a place that deserves a spot on your bucket list.

Kasar Devi is of particular importance because the region around the temple is believed to have an enormous geomagnetic field as it falls under the ‘Van Allen Radiation Belt’. The causes behind the formation of this belt have been researched by NASA and they have visited this place.

Two other famous places, which have been found to have a similar high magnetic field (Van Allen Radiation Belt) are Machu Picchu in Peru and Stonehenge in England. It is worthwhile to note that people who have meditated at Kasar Devi have expressed a degree of higher rejuvenation, mental pace, spiritual bliss and attached a special importance to it.

Kasar Devi has everything that makes it a perfect getaway – no crowd, super friendly people, clean and green scenic environment and the place is easily accessible.

When to visit

We recommend to visit Kasar Devi from March until June (although May can be very warm). Also October and November are great months to visit Kasar Devi. Click here for more average weather details in Kasar Devi.
