The Galapagos islands experience a warm and wet tropical climate. On the islands it is never extremely hot, because there is always a sea breeze. From January to May it is warmer but it usually rains a bit more. Nevertheless, the number of rainy days in that period are still very limited. Also the rain showers are usually short-lived. From June to December it is drier but fresher. August, September and October are known for the Garúa (Garúa is a Spanish word meaning drizzle or mist). It is in the Garúa season that most of the area’s wildlife tend to mate.
