Climate and Weather of United Arab Emirates
The United Arab Emirates has a hot desert climate, characterized by minimal rainfall, hot summers, and mild winters. Most people find themselves moving from one air-conditioned space to another. Due to the pleasant winter temperatures, many tourists visit Dubai and Abu Dhabi from November to March.
Winter Temperatures and Rainfall
In January, the United Arab Emirates experiences pleasant to warm temperatures. Daytime temperatures range from a comfortable 22°C in Da‘sah to a warmer 25°C in Al Ain. At night, temperatures cool to 13°C in Al Ain and 18°C in Da‘sah. This is also when Dubai experiences its coolest temperatures of the year.
Precipitation varies in January, with Madīnat Zāyid receiving only 7.9 mm of rain, while Dibba experiences up to 35 mm. January is typically the wettest month in Dubai, but with around [254] hours of sunshine, the city still enjoys plenty of bright days.
Summer Heat and Dry Conditions
By August, summer is in full swing, bringing extremely high temperatures and almost no rainfall. Average highs range from 35°C in Al Aqah to a sweltering 44°C in Madīnat Zāyid. Nighttime temperatures hover around 30°C, making August the hottest month of the year.
Visitors during this time should come prepared with light, breathable clothing for comfort. August remains extremely dry, with Dubai averaging just 0.6 mm of rainfall. However, with approximately [325] hours of sunshine, the city remains bright and vibrant throughout the month.
