Climate and Weather of United Arab Emirates

The United Arab Emirates has a hot desert climate, characterized by minimal rainfall, hot summers, and mild winters. Often, one finds oneself moving from one air-conditioned space to another. Due to the pleasant winter temperatures, many tourists flock to Dubai and Abu Dhabi from November to March.

January in the United Arab Emirates experiences temperatures that range from pleasant to warm, consistent with the winter season. Daytime temperatures oscillate between a comfortable 22°C in Da‘sah and a warmer 25°C in Al Ain. As night falls, it cools to 13°C in Al Ain and 18°C in Da‘sah. Notably, this is when Dubai feels its coolest temperatures of the year.

Precipitation varies in January, with Madīnat Zāyid experiencing a mere 7.9 mm and Dibba receiving a more noticeable 35 mm. According to our weather data, January emerges as the wettest month for Dubai. However, with around 254 hours of sunlight, the city still sees plenty of sunny days.

As the year progresses, the United Arab Emirates witnesses a vast spectrum of weather patterns. By August, summer is in full swing, bringing with it very hot temperatures and minimal rainfall. Average highs range from 35°C in Al Aqah to a sweltering 44°C in Madīnat Zāyid. Nighttime temperatures hover around 30°C, marking August as typically the hottest month.

Those planning to visit during this time should come prepared, packing light and breathable clothing to ensure comfort. In terms of precipitation, August remains extremely dry, with Dubai averaging a negligible 0.6 mm. The city is bathed in approximately 325 hours of sunshine, creating a predominantly sunny and vibrant experience throughout the month.
