Climate and Weather of Kyrgyzstan

Kyrgyzstan has a continental climate with large temperature differences throughout the country. Overall it's a super sunny country with some regions that experience more than 2,900 hours of sunshine per year. In January, the average temperature drops to freezing. Snow disappears in February or March, but up in the mountains the snow can often be seen until May.

Most rain falls in early spring. During summer (June - September) it is warm and on some days the temperature will rise above 35°C. In the mountains it remains considerably cooler, depending on the altitude the temperature can go down to around freezing even in summer.
