Climate and Average Weather in Jamaica

The climate in Jamaica is tropical, with hot and humid weather, although higher inland regions are more temperate. Some regions on the south coast, such as the Liguanea Plain and the Pedro Plains, are relatively dry areas.

The average daily temperature is around 25°C. The nicest weather is in the dry period from January to April. The sun shines often and sometimes some clouds appear which grow into a rainstorm. The weather is the friendliest during this period.

During the wet period you can expect days with grey, wet and windy weather. Most of the rain falls in the periods May-June and September-November, depending on the location and altitude the amount of precipitation varies. Especially in the higher parts in the east of the island there can be considerably more rainfall.
