Climate and Weather of Jamaica
The climate in Jamaica is tropical, with hot and humid weather, although higher inland regions are more temperate. Some regions on the south coast, such as the Liguanea Plain and the Pedro Plains, are relatively dry areas.
Temperature Variations
The average daily temperature is around 25°C, though it can vary depending on the region. Coastal areas typically experience temperatures between 24°C and 30°C. Higher elevations tend to be cooler, sometimes dropping below 20°C, especially at night.
Dry Season
The nicest weather occurs during the dry period from January to April. The sun shines often, though sometimes clouds develop into rainstorms. This period is generally the most pleasant.
Rainy Season
During the wet season, days can be gray, wet, and windy. Most of the rain falls between May-June and September-November. Depending on location and altitude, the amount of precipitation varies. In particular, the higher parts in the east of the island receive considerably more rainfall.
