French Polynesia is a French overseas collectivity in the southern Pacific Ocean. It's made up of several groups of Polynesian islands, the most famous island being Tahiti, which is also the most populous island and the seat of the capital of the territory. The best time to visit French Polynesia is during the cooler months, from June to October. The busiest season is Christmas as well as the months of January and February and the long summer holidays during July and August.
