Climate and Weather of Denmark
Denmark has a temperate oceanic climate, meaning the summers are mild and winters are never extremely cold. In summer months the eastern part of Denmark gets colder than the west and summers are generally warmer on the east side.Summers are characterized by a lot of sunshine: about half of the annual sunshine is recorded from May to August. Summer temperatures are moderate with maximum temperatures around 21°C in the warmest month July. At night the temperature drops to an average of 14°C.
In winter, the average maximum temperature remains around 3°C in the coldest month January. The atmosphere is very humid in winter (relative humidity 85-86%). In severe winters, part of the Kattegat can freeze for a short time.
