Climate and Weather of the Bahamas
The Bahamas have a tropical monsoon climate, with a hot and wet season and a cooler dry season. The climate is somewhat moderated by the warm waters of the Gulf Stream. Throughout the year, temperatures in the Bahamas range between 24°C and 32°C. The hottest months are July and August, with temperatures around 32°C.
Hurricane Season and Rainfall
The chance of tropical storms is highest in August and September; however, hurricane season officially runs from June to November. The rain during these months may be heavy but is usually of short duration.
Best Time to Visit the Bahamas
The best period to visit the Bahamas is during the drier months of December, January, February, March, and April. During these months, temperatures are more pleasant compared to summer, and the chance of tropical rains and storms is lower.
Winter Temperatures
During the months of December, January, and February, the average temperature is around 25°C. Keep in mind that temperatures in the northern islands are a few degrees lower than in the south of the Bahamas.
