Climate and Average Weather in the Bahamas

The Bahamas have a tropical Savannah climate, with a hot and wet season and a cooler dry season. The climate is somewhat moderated by warm waters of the Gulf Stream. Throughout the year, the temperatures of the Bahamas fall between 25°C and 32°C. The hottest months are July and Augustus with temperatures around 32°C.

The chance of tropical storms are the highest in August and September. The rain during these months may be heavy, but are usually of short duration.

The best period to visit the Bahamas are in the drier months of December, January, February, March and April. These months the temperatures are more pleasant than in summer. The chance of tropical rains and tropical storms are also less.

During the months of December, January and February, the average temperature is around 25°C. Keep in mind that the temperatures in the northern islands are a few degrees lower than in the south of the Bahamas.
