Covid update for Belgium

Belgium Belgium relaxes some Corona rules

In Belgium, a number of corona rules will be relaxed from today. People no longer have to wear a mask outside, only in crowded places or if the 1.5 meters cannot be guaranteed. However, they remain mandatory in shops, public transport and in public buildings.

Also, Belgians with coronal symptoms only need to be quarantined for a week, instead of two weeks. On the fifth day, they have to get tested. If you have a positive result, you have to stay indoors for another week.

The same rules now apply to receptions and weddings for the hospitality industry. This means there is no maximum limit but it has to fit according to the 1.5 meter rule. Also only ten people can be at one table. People can still invite only ten people at home.

As of today, Belgium is also moving away from the so-called bubble of 5, in which a family could only have close contact with a fixed group of five other people. Now each family member can have close contact with up to five people. If you want to see more people, it is recommended to keep 1.5 meters away and if you can't wear a mask
