Attention nature lovers, a holiday to Costa Rica is a must on your bucket list. The country in Central America is known for its unspoiled natural beauty full of jungles, extinguished volcanoes, breathtaking beaches and tropical jungles. Another reason to visit Costa Rica are the spectacular places to stay. One of those places is called Anamaya, a yoga ashram near the charming beach town Montezuma.

If you like your yoga retreats to be social, immersing you in nature and a community of like-minded practitioners from around the world, then Anamaya in Costa Rica is for you. Meals are communal, and the infinity pool is so amazing that nearly everyone ends up there between yoga sessions. Nestled in the jungle, the pool offers stunning views looking over the ocean. Most stays are a full week, though three night retreats are also available certain times of the year. Most weeks, there is a well established guest teacher in house.

The Nicoya Peninsula, where Anamaya is located is one of the world’s designated “blue zones”.
The Nicoya PeninsulaThis is where people are said to live the longest and healthiest, so that's a very good sign. At the resort, all food served is organic, with plenty of vegan and vegetarian options.

The pool is salt water and free from harmful chemicals, and there’s a focus on creating zero impact at the resort. Rooms are built as much as possible from natural materials and interiors are decorated with organic cottons and bamboo fabrics.

Costa Rica's seasons are defined by how much it rains during a particular period and not to the four seasons like in the Northern Hemisphere. The year can be split into two periods, the dry season known to the residents as summer, and the rainy season, known locally as winter. The "summer" or dry season goes from December to April, and "winter" or rainy season goes from May to November. Click here for more climate information in Montezuma.
