November is one of Argentina's most interesting travel months because spring is moving quickly toward summer, yet conditions still vary sharply from north to south. Mendoza offers the strongest overall weather in this comparison, with 27°C (81°F) days, only 67 mm (2.6 in) of rain and around 307 hours of sunshine. Buenos Aires is also warm and sunny, while Cafayate combines mild days with relatively limited rainfall. Mendoza has the best all-round weather
Mendoza is the standout destination if you want warm, dry and sunny weather. Average daytime temperatures reach 27°C (81°F), while nights cool to 13°C (55°F). Rainfall averages 67 mm (2.6 in) and is concentrated into only about four rainy days. Sunshine reaches an impressive 307 hours.
Those figures make Mendoza warmer, drier in terms of rainy-day frequency and sunnier than Buenos Aires. The large difference between day and night temperatures is worth noticing, however. Warm afternoons can be followed by much cooler evenings, especially outside the city.
November is particularly well suited to the classic Mendoza combination of vineyard visits and Andean scenery. The landscape is greener than in winter, temperatures are warm without being at their midsummer peak, and the relatively low number of rainy days gives you good odds for outdoor plans.
Buenos Aires: warm spring weather for a city trip
Buenos Aires averages 26°C (79°F) during the day and 14°C (57°F) at night in November. Rainfall totals 96 mm (3.8 in) over around nine days, while the city receives about 264 hours of sunshine.
Compared with Mendoza, Buenos Aires is slightly cooler, somewhat wetter and less sunny. Even so, the conditions are well suited to a city break. Parks and café terraces are in full spring mode, while daytime temperatures are warm enough to feel almost summery without the more persistent heat that can arrive later.
If you are deciding between Mendoza and Buenos Aires purely on weather, Mendoza wins. If you want museums, neighborhoods, restaurants and a large-city atmosphere, November is nevertheless one of the more comfortable times to experience Buenos Aires.
Cafayate: mild days in Argentina's northwest
Cafayate in Salta Province averages 23°C (73°F) during the day and 11°C (52°F) at night. November rainfall is around 73 mm (2.9 in) across about eight rainy days. The temperatures are lower than Mendoza's but still comfortable for exploring the high-altitude wine region and surrounding valleys.
The northwest is particularly interesting because the climate can change quickly with elevation. Cafayate offers a relatively mild base, while landscapes range from vineyards to dry, sculpted valleys. If high heat is not important, it can be a strong alternative to Mendoza.
Bariloche: lots of sunshine, but much cooler
Bariloche is where Argentina's November weather begins to feel very different. Daytime temperatures average only 15°C (59°F), with nights around 2°C (36°F). Rainfall is 63 mm (2.5 in) over about six days, but sunshine still reaches around 292 hours.
That combination is unusual: Bariloche is one of the sunniest places in this comparison, yet it is far colder than Mendoza or Buenos Aires. Weather should therefore be judged in terms of the trip you want. For lake views, mountain scenery and spring hiking, bright cool days can be ideal. For sitting outside in light clothing into the evening, Mendoza is much more suitable.

Ushuaia: spring at the end of the world

These are not warm-weather conditions, but November does bring increasingly long days to Tierra del Fuego. Is northern or southern Argentina better in November?
