Climate and Average Weather in Wallis & Futuna

Officially part of the French territory, Wallis and Futuna are tropical islands in the South Pacific Ocean known for their beautiful azure waters and beaches. There are two major island groups in the territory, namely the Wallis Islands located northeast, and the Futuna Islands located southwest. Mata-Utu is the territory's capital located in Wallis, while Hihifo is where the territory's airport is located.

The Islands have a unique tropical rainforest climate all year-round where warm areas generally experience a great deal of rainfall. On average, temperatures are around 30°C throughout the year. Average annual rainfall ranges between 2500 mm and 3000 mm, with most rainfall occurring during the winter months (from October to March).
