Climate and Average Weather in Suriname

Suriname has a tropical climate with dry and two rainy seasons. The short rainy season starts in December and lasts until the end of January. The long rainy season takes place from April to July. Throughout the year the average daily temperature varies between 21 and 32 degrees Celsius (70 to 90 degrees Fahrenheit). Suriname lies outside the hurricane zone so the most extreme weather condition is a heavy rain shower.

The best time to visit Suriname is during the drier season, from late August to mid-November. During this period there is half the amount of rain than during the wettest months May and June. August, September and October are the sunniest months of the year.
