Climate and Weather of Niger
Niger is one of the hottest countries on the planet. It has the Saharan desert in the north, the Sahel to the south and the Sudan in the south-west corner. The intense heat of the Saharan zone often causes the little rainfall to evaporate before it even hits the ground.In the east annual rainfall is only 20 mm. The rainy season runs from May through October, with most rain in July and August.
At Niamey, the average maximum daily temperature fluctuates from 31°C in August to 41°C in April. Nights are cooler, below 20°C, from November to February.
