Climate and Average Weather in Lithuania

Lithuania has a climate mid-way between maritime and continental. The weather is very changeable and unstable, summers are cool to mild and rather wet with many cloudy days. Winter temperatures are usually below freezing and are very cold. Rainfall is fairly frequent all year round, but there are more rainy days on the coast than inland. Summer (June - September) is the wettest season.

Summer is the best time to visit Lithuania for a holiday. In particular, the months of June, July and August. Afternoon temperatures are pleasant with an average maximum temperature of 18°C to 24°C. At night, the heat doesn't linger, so you'll be able to sleep fine in the middle of summer without the need for air conditioning. The only disadvantage of the summer months is that there is always a chance of a rainstorm that may be accompanied by strong thunderstorms.
