Weather Averages and Climate in Haiti

Haiti, in the West Indies, occupies the western third of the island of Hispaniola, which it shares with the Dominican Republic. The total area of Haiti is 27,750 square kilometres (10,714 sq mi) and its capital is Port-au-Prince. It is two-thirds mountainous, with the rest of the country marked by great valleys, extensive plateaus, and small plains.

The best time to go is November-March, when day temperatures are on average between 23-32 degrees celcius (70s and 80s Fahrenheit) and nights are on average between 15-27 celcius (60s-70s Fahrenheit). The rainy season is from May till July, but even when it rains, it usually lasts for only an hour or two in the evening. Hurricane season is July- till October. The hill country is always about 10 degrees cooler.
