Climate and Average Weather in Barbados
Barbados has a mild tropical climate, this is due to the constant trade winds from the Atlantic Ocean. The average maximum temperature is between 27 and 32 degrees Celsius (80-90 degrees Fahrenheit) all year round, with the differences mainly determined by the location on the island and the time of year. For example, the days around the new year are generally the "coolest". During summer months it is a few degrees warmer with an average of 32 degrees (90°F).
There is almost always wind on the rougher north-east coast of Barbados. On the popular south-western coastal areas, the cooling effect of the sea breeze is a lot smaller. Nevertheless, the seawater ensures that the limit of 35 degrees Celsius (95° F) is rarely exceeded.
The best time to visit Barbados is between February and April. These are the most sunny months, clouds are often harmless and rain usually doesn't last too long. These spring months are therefore the top season in which the hotels charge the highest prices for their rooms and also the airfare to Barbados can be more expensive due to the increased demand. Other good travel months are December and January.
