Climate and Weather of Barbados

Barbados has a mild tropical climate, thanks to the constant trade winds from the Atlantic Ocean. The average maximum temperature ranges between 27°C and 32°C year-round, with differences mainly influenced by location on the island and the time of year. For example, the days around the New Year are generally the "coolest." During the summer months, temperatures are slightly higher, averaging around 32°C.

Wind and Temperature Variations

There is almost always wind on the rougher northeast coast of Barbados. On the popular southwest coastal areas, the cooling effect of the sea breeze is much smaller. However, the surrounding seawater helps ensure that temperatures rarely exceed 35°C.

Best Time to Visit Barbados

The best time to visit Barbados is between February and April. These are the sunniest months, with mostly harmless clouds and short-lived rain showers. As a result, this period is considered peak season, leading to higher hotel rates and airfare due to increased demand. Other good travel months include December and January.
