Peru Mandatory 14-day quarantine introduced in Peru

Starting on January 4, 2021, the government of Peru will be reinstating the blanket 14-day quarantine for all passengers entering the country.

The implementation of the 14-day quarantine for all arrivals comes from fear of new strains of the virus that originated from the UK and South Africa, that have now found their way into the USA and other Latin American countries.

Peru Peru now accepts flights arriving from certain destinations

Jorge Chavez International Airport is now accepting flights arriving from certain destinations. Travelers must have a medical certificate with a negative Coronavirus COVID-19 PCR test result issued within 72 hours prior to departure and complete a "Declaracion Jurada de Salud".

Peru Peru has extended their border closure until September 30

Peru has extended their border closure, along with their state of emergency, until September 30, 2020.

The government is using airspace during the month of September to not only repatriate Peruvians who have been stranded abroad, but also for humanitarian flights for foreigners who have been stuck inside Peru during lockdowns.
