Malaysia Malaysia keeps borders closed to foreigners until end of the year

The Malaysian government announced on Saturday that the borders will remain closed to foreign tourists until at least 31 December. The government says it has the pandemic under control and wants to prevent foreigners from creating new clusters of the virus.

Malaysia Malaysia will keep the borders closed until at least August 31

The country is prohibiting foreign entry, with very few exceptions, until August 31. Any travelers who apply for and are granted entry will be subject to a rapid COVID-19 test and a mandatory 14-day self-quarantine.

Malaysia Malaysia is discussing a travel bubble with Singapore and Brunei

Malaysia is in talks with Singapore and Brunei to create “green lanes” for less restricted travel, as governments around the world seek to reopen their borders without a resurgence in coronavirus cases.

The country is discussing guidelines with its two neighbors and has approached Australia and New Zealand also, said the Ministry of Health’s Director General Noor Hisham Abdullah, who oversees Malaysia’s Covid-19 response. Read more here.
