Dominican Republic United States reduced travel advisory for Dominican Republic

The United States government has dropped the level 4 ‘do not travel' advisory for the Dominican Republic to a level 3 ‘reconsider travel'.

The U.S. Department of State updated the reduced advisory level on November 19, 2020 stating that travelers should ‘reconsider travel' to the Dominican Republic due to ‘health and safety measures and COVID-related conditions'. Read more here.

Dominican Republic Dominican Republic does not require a negative PCR test anymore

The Dominican Republic will no longer require travelers to show a negative COVID-19 test result from September 15.

Dominican Republic Dominican Republic has reopened for tourism

Travelers from all countries will be permitted to enter the Dominican Republic under regular visa entry rules. Travelers will be required to present a negative COVID-19 PCR test which is not older than 5 days (counting from the time of taking the swab to arriving at the airport).

Travelers that show up without proof of a negative COVID-19 test result will be tested at the airport using the rapid test method at no extra cost. The Dominican Republic does NOT have any quarantine entry requirements and does NOT offer quarantines instead of COVID-19 testing. 

Travelers showing COVID-19 symptoms or whose test results are positive will be quarantined at locations authorized by the Dominican Republic Government.
