Curaçao Curaçao relaxes corona measures

From Wednesday, Curaçao will partially relax the current corona measures on the island. The curfew will no longer be in effect at 21:00, but instead at 23:00 and will apply until 04:30.

The alcohol ban in force in the hospitality and public spaces is also being lifted. Restaurants may also remain open until 22:00, instead of until 20:00. It is only allowed to eat outdoors.

The number of infections on Curaçao is steadily decreasing: a month ago the peak was still above 1800 infections, now there are less than 560 cases. Nineteen people died of corona on the island.

Curaçao Stricter Corona measures in Curaçao

Restaurants are no longer allowed to receive guests in; they are only allowed to deliver or have food picked up. It is also forbidden to sell alcohol and all casinos close.

There will be no lockdown, Justice Minister Girigorie said at a press conference. However, the curfew, which has been in place for some time, will be extended by three weeks. That means people are not allowed to take to the streets between 9:00 p.m. and 4:30 a.m.

For a long time Curaçao had relatively few infection. however the number of infections in Curaçao has increased.

Curaçao Evening curfew and other new strict measures on Curaçao

The government in Curaçao has announced tougher corona measures. The existing curfew will be brought forward to 9 pm from today. For adults it is now mandatory to wear a mask in the supermarket. The rule also applies to other shops, public transport, and funerals.

The reason for the new measures is the number of infections that have been rising rapidly for the last week; from 20 a day to an average of 40 people who tested positive.

Curaçao New entry requirements for Curaçao

Curaçao has required travelers to complete the digital immigration card online before departure and digitally fill out the Passenger Locator Card(PLC) and carry a printed document of proof with you. Can be found at https://dicardcuracao.com/portal. Travelers arriving from medium-risk countries must present a negative COVID-19 PCR test result taken within 72 hours prior to arrival to enter the country.

Curaçao Curaçao allows travellers from Florida, Aruba and Sint Maarten

Direct flights from the US state of Florida, Aruba and Sint Maarten are welcome again at Curaçao airport from Monday. The passengers of those flights are required to submit a negative test. The island has opened the airport to travellers from 15 Caribbean islands and 35 countries are now considered to be low-risk areas.

Travellers from the Netherlands could already fly to Curaçao. If they can hand over a negative test, they don't have to be quarantined. These rules also apply to visitors from countries such as Germany, Italy, Hong Kong, Austria, China, Taiwan and Suriname.
