Cuba Mandatory 5-day quarantine introduced in Cuba

As of February 6, Cuba is now requiring most travelers to quarantine upon arrival for up to 5 days. Here are all the details of the new isolation measure and which travelers are exempt.

Cuba Cuba offers to vaccinate all tourists against Corona

Cuba has offered to vaccinate all tourists against Covid-19 that visit the island after it completes its phase 3 trials.

The phase 3 trials of Cuba's Sovereign 02 Covid-19 vaccine will begin in March and are being carried out by the Finlay Institute. The World Health Organization (WHO) is monitoring the vaccine development.

Cuba Entry requirements for Cuba

The Cuban tourism industry was completely shut down due to the COVID-19 pandemic back in March but has since reopened its borders to international tourists.Travelers from all countries are permitted to visit Cuba under regular visa requirements and Havana has officially reopened for tourists starting on November 15th, 2020.

Cuba Cuba's date for reopening has been postponed until at least September 30

Cuba's date for reopening of all international flights has been postponed until at least September 30. Cuba has suspended all flights, except for humanitarian aid flights and special categories of charter flights.

Charter flights to Cayo Coco (CCC), Cayo Largo del Sur (CYO) and Santa Clara (SNU) restarted from July 1. Travelers on these flights will be tested on arrival (a ‘PCR’ swab and a temperature test) and will be transferred directly to their resorts. Anyone that has a positive test result will be transferred to a hospital.

Cuba Cuba has officially reopened its borders

Cuba has officially reopened its borders and international airports to restart tourism on July 1, 2020 starting with certain tourist cities and gradually adding more.

Cuba started their 3-phase reopening plan in June.

Phase 1: June – Domestic tourism, implementing safety protocols

Phase 2: July – International tourism to select areas of Cuba

Phase 3: Potentially August – Opening of the rest of Cuba’s tourist centres
