Chile Chile has reopened borders for tourism

Chile has reopened its airport, non-resident foreigners will be allowed to enter Chile through Santiago Airport. Travelers must have a valid medical certificate with a negative COVID-19 PCR test result, completed a sanitary passport and a proof of health insurance policy.

Chile Chile is reopening borders for tourism in December

The Ministry of Health made the announcement this week confirming Chile’s official reopening of their borders starting in December. The exact date, while not yet been set in stone, could happen as early as the last week of November, or within the first week of December.

While the firm date is not yet clear, the government of Chile has been very clear about all entry requirements and biosecurity protocols, including which countries are permitted to enter for tourism, and under what rules. Read more here.

Chile Chile is expected to formalize a reopening plan by September 7

Chile is still currently closed for tourism. Chile’s Foreign Minister Andrés Allamand announced that he expects the country to soon reopen, but with strict entry requirements in place, like PCR testing. He is expected to formalize a reopening plan by September 7th, which could come into place as early as October 1st.
