Bulgaria Bulgaria extends state of emergency, travelers must get tested

Bulgaria has extended the state of emergency due to the coronavirus until the end of April. They also decided that from Friday all travelers entering the country should be tested for coronavirus.

Bulgaria Bulgaria lifts travel restrictions for third countries

As from 1 July Bulgaria and other EU countries start lifting the travel restrictions at the external borders for residents of the following third countries:

  • Algeria
  • Australia
  • Canada
  • Georgia
  • Japan
  • Montenegro
  • Morocco
  • New Zealand
  • Rwanda
  • Serbia
  • South Korea
  • Thailand
  • Tunisia
  • Uruguay
  • China, subject to confirmation of reciprocity

Bulgaria Bulgaria reopened its borders on 1 June to EU countries

Bulgaria already reopened its borders on 1 June to EU countries.  However, tourists from Belgium, Portugal, Sweden, and the UK must self-isolate for 14 days.  The following countries and mini states are also welcome: the UK, San Marino, Andorra, Monaco, Vatican, Serbia and North Macedonia citizens, as well as to medical workers and family members of Bulgarian citizens.

We recommend to always check if there are any latest travel restrictions before you book an accommodation. Travel may only be permitted for certain purposes and recreational travel may not be specifically permitted.
