Aruba reopens borders in phases
June 15 Aruba has opened its border with Curaçao and Bonaire and on July 1 it will with Europe, Canada and the Caribbean region (excluding the Dominican Republic and Haiti). The border with the United States will be open again from 10 July.
But according to Aruban Public Health Minister Danqui Oduber, Aruba 'follows all the advice of RIVM'. The Dutch health institute had also recommended that everyone be required to test before boarding the flight to Aruba. "But the airlines said they would then cancel all flights to Aruba and fly to other Caribbean destinations."
That is why the Minister says it has been decided that the test is mandatory only on arrival. Tourists can be tested in their own country beforehand and then upload the negative result before departure. In addition, tourists must complete the immigration form and a health certificate 72 hours before departure. It is also mandatory to buy a Covid insurance. "This costs 15 dollars per person per day and covers all costs for quarantine and medical care in Aruba. Intensive care care," says Oduber.
We recommend to always check if there are any latest travel restrictions before you book an accommodation. Government measures are constantly changing, so we recommend that you regularly check for updates.
