Hotel Oeschinensee’s mountain coaster is a summer toboggan that you might want to add to your bucket list. You'll get in your cart, sit down and fly across the track while enjoying the beautiful mountain scenery around you. The toboggan run is situated in between mountains (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), which makes the ride extra special. In the background you can see the snowy peaks, while you toboggan among the green grass.

The ride is open from May through October then closed for winter. One ride on the mountain coaster will cost adults about $5.

Berghotel Oeschinensee sustainable practices

This hotel does not only offer an amazing toboggan, they are also well know for their sustainable practices. At Berghotel Oeschinensee they process the lamb themselves. The farm of the Berghotel Oeschinensee still comprises about 40 ewes today. Just a few years ago, cows, horses and pigs were still part of it. The increasing legal requirements and the lack of time, however, forced them to reduce the size of the farm and “only” concentrate on their sheep.

The animals spend the summer over the Oeschinensee on the Heuberg. They eat good herbs, have plenty of exercise and breathe fresh air. Ideal conditions for healthy animals and good meat quality. In winter they feed the sheep and lambs with organic hay, emd and silage from their own land. Only food is used, which grows locally and they bring that in themselves in summer. They enjoy the agricultural work like wood and offer variety. Many beautiful products arise from this work. The wood for the guest rooms and for cooking, for example, comes from their own mountain forest.
