Merano has a temperate maritime climate, which is partly influenced by the Adriatic Sea. This influence ensures that weather extremes are not as great as in other parts of the region. Winter months are less cold and the average annual precipitation rates are lower. During summer average temperatures are slightly higher, the average daily temperature is just under 30°C. In winter months, it is a few degrees around freezing.
You can expect most precipitation in summer. The best time to visit Merano is during spring, early summer months or September. Temperatures and sunshine hours are then at their best.
