Chongqing experiences a warm oceanic climate. In summer it can get very hot. The region belongs to one the "three ovens" of China. The winters are generally mild and the temperature does not drop very quickly. Characteristic for Chongqing is the fog that hangs around for many days of the year around the city. The high concentration of air pollution also causes only a few days of clear blue skies.
During the months of April and October you are most likely to experience good weather with pleasant average temperatures that fall between 20°C and 26°C.
