Manila has a tropical climate, with very high temperatures throughout the year. During the night the mercury drops to 21°C to 27°C. Due to the high relative humidity the feel temperature is generally several degrees higher than the actual temperature measured.
When is the dry and rainy season in Manila?
The period January to April is the dry season, after which in May the amount of rain increases rapidly. June to October is the rainy season with high amounts of rainfall each month and in this period it can sometimes rain for days in a row. If you arrive during these months there is a chance that your trip to the islands will be delayed by bad weather. Also when the wet season hits the city floods occur and the traffic stops.
Does Manila experience typhoons / hurricanes?
Manila is located in an area where there is a chance of typhoons. If a typhoon passes over the city, there is a high probability of significant damage. However, passing within a reasonable distance of the city also causes a lot of inconvenience from the high amounts of rainwater and strong wind. Serious flooding occurs almost every typhoon season. The season is from June to November, but occasionally typhoons occur outside of the typhoon season.
Manila has high temperatures year round ranging between 30°C and 34°C.
The best time to visit is during the drier months: January, February, March and April.
